Indian School Ajman was established in 1988.The patron of our school is Mr. Abdulla Bu Shahab, who was the Asst. Undersecretary in the UAE ministry of labor and social welfare. |
The school had its humble beginning at the heart of Ajman city. The benevolent ruler of Ajman granted a plot of land and the school had its own building in 1991 and moved to its new premises. At that time we were the only school in that area.
Starting with 8 teachers the school has 89 staff today with 56 teachers. We have 1190 students. The philosophy of the school has been individual attention and consequently the strength of the school has been kept low... None of the classes has more than 30 students and most of them have been kept at 25.
Yet another feature of the school has been to get good result for the classes as a whole. Board Examination results are proof for this. More than 75% of the students score more than First Class marks and 15to 20% of them secure Distinction (above 75%).
|
Academically our school students have scored very high marks which have brought our school among the top five quite a number of times. Consecutively for 10 years the school had cent percent pass for the board examinations.
On the extracurricular side, our forte has been arts especially music and dance. Our students have won the Air India Rolling Trophy for the inter school music competition quite a number of times. Besides the dance group has won dance competition year after year.
The school annual day, which is a well known and well attended function, has been graced by most of the notable Indians in the UAE besides the top officials of the Indian diplomatic missions.
